In The name of God Amen I Robert Chambers of Salehurst in the County of Sussex Tanner being sicke in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory Thanks be given to God therefore Doe this present Fift [sic] day of March in the one and Twentieth yeare of the Reigne of our Soueraigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the Faith &c Anno Domini one Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Eight make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following In the First place I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God who gaue it me And my body I leave to returne to the Earth from whence it came and to receive a decent buriall att the discretion of my Executrix herein after named And as touching the disposition of such Estate as God hath blessed me with in this world I doe dispose of the same as followeth In primis I giue to the poore of the parish of Salehurst aforesaid Forty shillings of lawfull money of England To be distributed amongst them att the discretion of my ^said^ Executrix Item I giue vnto my sonne John Fifty Pounds of lawfull money of England To be paid vnto him by my Said Executrix within Two yeares next after my decease Item I giue vnto my Sonne Robert one hundred pounds of like money To be paid vnto him by my Said Executrix att his age of One and Twenty yeares Item I giue vnto my daughter Frances now the wife of John Baker of Wartling in the Said County of Sussex yeoman Ten pounds To be paid vnto her within One yeare next after my decease Item I giue vnto my daughter Martha Three Hundred and Tenn pounds of like money To be paid vnto her by my Said Executrix att her age of Two and Twenty yeares or day of Marriage which shall First happen Item I giue vnto my daughter Elizabeth Three hundred and Tenn pounds of like money To be paid vnto her by my Said Executrix Att her age of Eighteen yeares or day of Marriage which Shall First happen Item I giue vnto Mary Baker my Grandchild Forty shillings of like money to be paid vnto my Said daughter Frances for the benefitt of my Said Grandchild her daughter Item I will and devise vnto my said sonne Robert and his heires for ever All my lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoeuer with their and euery of their appurtenaunts lying and being in Mountfeild [sic] in the Said County of Sussex and Saleherst aforesaid or one of them which I lately had and purchased to me and my heires of Thomas Bennett Item I will and devise vnto my Said Sonne Robert and his heires for ever All my lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoeuer with their and euery of their appurtenaunts lying and being in Saleherst aforesaid which I lately had and purchased to me and my heires of Thomas Bild Item I will and devise vnto my Said Sonne Robert and his heires for euer All my Messuages Tenements closes and gardens whatsoeuer with their and euery of their appurtenants scituate lying and being in Maidstone in the County of Kent The residue of all my goods and Chattells whatsoeuer My debts legacies and funerall expences being First paid and discharged I giue vnto Martha my loueing Wife Whome I make and ordain my Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament In Witnes [sic] whereof I the Said Robert Chambers haue to euery sheete hereof (being Three in number sett my hand and to the First and last of them my seale in the presence of those whose names are here vnder written Robt Chambers. Signed sealed and pubished to be the last will and Testament of the said Robert Chambers in the presence of Wil Levtt Joes Hedge John Chambers Joseph Newington .
