Mary Newland Admitted April 25th 1862 aged 70 widow of a laborer, Church of England, she has been occasionally violent for 13 years, but never under treatment before, duration of existing attack since February last. supposed cause death of her daughter, she is neither epileptic nor suicidal but dangerous. She is chargeable to Hertford Died Dec 6th/76 [A blue 'STATEMENT OF DEATH' notice is pasted on to the page: ] COPY. STATEMENT OF DEATH, 25 & 26 Vict., c. 111., s 44, THREE COUNTIES ASYLUM. Near ARLESLEY, BEDFORDSHIRE. I Certify that the apparent Cause of Death of Mary Newland Age (?) 84. a Pauper Patient, who died in this Asylum on the 6th Day of December 1876, -??? by post mortem examination- was Old Age 84. and that the duration of the disease of which such Patient died was ? [sic] Dated the 6th Day of December One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy six Signed Edward Swain Superintendent of the Three Counties Asylum. To The Coroner of the County of Bedford.
