Marriages heard followeth Co??? of the Marieage of John Breett & Hester Exton his wife 1696 To all Christian People (? )before whom this present (?) wrighting (?) shall come with the ??? shillm?? stamps (?) heareunto sett Know yee that att A meetting holden att Cotte???d in the Countey of Hartford on the fiveteenth day of the Eight [sic] month commonly Called Rtober in the year of our Lord God 1696 John Breett of Kingswood in the said county of Hartford yeoman did take to wife Hester Exton of Yardley in the said Countey of Hartf Spinster (?) And att the same meetting the said Hester Exton did take the aforesaid John Breett to be (?) her huseband untill death doo them part In the presence & sight of the said meetting & Assen??? of then & theire present & alsoo in the presence of us whose names are hearunto subscribed: And for the Confirmation of the said marriage the said John Breett & Hester Exton haue hearunto putt theire hands the day & year Aboue written Wittnessing hearunto with the ??? shill?gs stamyd (?) as is Abouesaid in the Certifiecate of Parchment sett
